OUR SERVICES

Our specialists are involved in projects from the concept stage. When their work includes analysing detailed air flow, solar and wind studies, through to the later stages of design. When Part L assessments, rigorous overheating checks and energy predictions are undertaken. Such studies enable engineers to produce informed design strategies while minimising risk.

DYNAMIC THERMAL MODELLING

Thermal simulation and energy modelling of buildings is becoming a regular and commonplace part of design practice. By accurately predicting the peak loads and annual energy consumption of the building, engineer can optimise the plant sizing and system design, reducing the energy consumption and associated carbon emissions and minimising capital and running costs to the client.

COMPUTATION FLUID DYNAMICS

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling is a highly complex technique and is used in building performance simulation to calculate local air flow and temperature distribution of a defined environment. For example, the behavior of an air diffuser in a room can be modelled to determine the airflow velocity pattern its affect on heating/ cooling and occupant comfort.

DAYLIGHT & SUNLIGHT

Detailed daylight analysis can demonstrate internal daylight factors, vertical sky component, sun-path analysis and overshadowing. Well-controlled daylight within an interior can not only save energy but also dramatically improve the quality of the interior space.

 SAP CALCULATIONS

Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) calculations are necessary to demonstrate that your property is compliant with either Part L1A (new builds). We are qualified SAP assessor with Elmherst Energy Scheme.

SBEM CALCULATIONS

The Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM) is used to assess whether buildings meet carbon targets, minimum fabric benchmarks and standards for the building’s services under Part L2A. We are qualified Energy assessor with CIBSE Scheme and can provide BRUKL documents for Building Control approval.

LZC FEASIBILITY STUDIES

LZC feasibility studies are often required at early stages in the design to support planning or to meet BREEAM requirements. We are able to assess LZC technologies and make recommendations accordingly.

 DOMESTIC EPCs

If you are selling or renting out a property and new or on construction domestic building then you are required by law to provide a domestic EPC. It contains information about a property’s energy use and typical energy costs.

COMMERCIAL EPCs

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) measures the energy efficiency of a property on a scale of A-G. EPCs are a legal requirement for a building to be sold, let or constructed and is valid for 10 years. Properties with EPC rating higher of 'E' before cannot be sold or let in accordance to Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) Legislation.

 THERMAL COMFORT

We use advanced simulation software such IES and TAS to accurately model the building and its usage. The aims to improve the comfort and energy performance of all buildings. Calculation are carried out in accordance to CIBSE requirements using TM52 and TM59 procedures. Also we produce comfort analysis in support of BREEAM Hea 4.

 LONDON PLAN

London is trying to lead the way in reducing carbon emission targets beyond Part L standards.

ENERGY  STATEMENTS

To receive planning consent, many local authorities now require a planning application to include an Energy Statement (also known as an Energy Strategy or Energy Report).

SUSTAINABILITY  STATEMENTS

Many local authorities require a site-specific Sustainability Statement. We ensure that the Sustainability Statement that you receive will comply with the particular requirements.
